CUSTOM HOMES, CUSTOM SOFTWARE


A high volume home builder used an aging system built using Excel and macros to produce the paperwork needed to build homes. It was unsupported, fragile, was unable to run on the most recent versions of Office, and could not keep pace with the changing needs of the organization.
Working with the client's team, we completely redesigned the workflow. Keeping what worked, improving what didn't, and adding new functionality, we created a cloud-based web app to support the "mass customization" strategy of the builder.

Now, instead of a single user system with lots of Excel files, they now use a cohesive system for an unlimited number of staff to collaborate. Multiple team members can use a single process to build houses, issue purchase and work orders, produce a master schedule, and create all legal paperwork.

The project aligned with business objectives by creating a system that provides a better customer experience, saves time, money, and improves accuracy and quality. The right people now have access to technology and can use it.
By its very nature, our building process is pretty complicated. The new system hides that complexity. Now we get the job done accurately and know how much money we make on every house we build.
